Bluelearn, Magma, PadCare raise fresh capital

Bluelearn raises $3.5M led by Elevation Capital and Lightspeed

Social learning platform Bluelearn has raised $3.5 million from Elevation Capital and Lightspeed. The seed funding round also saw participation from Titan Capital, 2AM VC, and angel investors including Meesho’s Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal.

Lightspeed and 100x.VC also invested in Bluelearn in previous rounds. Founded in 2021 by BIT Pilani, his Harish Uthyakumar from Goa and Shreyans Sacheti, Bluelearsn is a social learning channel where students can ask questions and solve them in groups.

The platform initially started as a channel on Telegram. Now in over 20 countries, he claims there are over 5,500 universities and startups helping each other with questions about the platform. The platform also has his Bluelearn Work for internships and freelance programs.

Magma raises $3.3 million from General Catalyst and others

B2B manufacturing platform Magma has raised $3.3 million in a combination of equity and debt. The seed round was led by General Catalyst, Titan Capital, and Accion Venture Lab. Existing investors such as WEH Ventures and All in Capital increased their investment in the company. Angel investors such as Mamaearth’s Varun Alagh also participated.

The newly raised funds will be used to expand the product offering.

Founded in February 2022 as a business-to-business (B2B) supply chain enabler, Magma operates in the construction materials sector, full-stack solutions for factories, and industrial chemical manufacturers. Last August, the company raised $515,000 in a pre-seed round from WEH Ventures, All in Capital, PointOne Capital and others.

PadCare raises Rs 5 Cr from Social Capital and others

PadCare, a waste treatment and recycling company, has raised Rs 50 crore in a seed funding round from Social Alpha, Lavni Ventures, 3i Partners, Rainmatter and Spectrum Impact.

The Pune-based startup plans to use the capital to expand its operations to other cities within the next 24 months. PadCare wants to set up decentralized material recovery centers.

Started by Ajinkya Dhariya in 2018, PadCare operates in a menstrual hygiene space. The company creates ways for women to make sustainable choices without changing their preferences. A team of 45 people is currently operating in her six largest cities in India. PadCare partners with 250 companies including Capgemini, Aditya Birla Group and Proctar and Gamble (P&G).

TapOnn Digital raises Rs 1.5 Cr led by US based Wita Inc.

Networking platform TapOnn Digital has raised Rs 1.5 billion in a seed funding round led by US-based Wita Inc. Funds will be used to improve technology, strengthen marketing, and develop more products.

Launched by Dhruv Jolly in July 2022, TapOnn provides a platform for brands and professionals to contribute personal and professional information. The Indore-based company makes smart coins, smart cards and chips, which among other products facilitate the transmission of user data.
